The Hunting Cabin

The whitetail at Deer Haven Acres have excellent genetics, and dine year-round on a diet conducive to large antler growth. This combination produces a class of deer well above average. As you can see in some of the pictures on this page, our bucks have long tines, good mass, and typically have symmetrical racks.
One thing that most hunters appreciate about our preserve is the natural terrain and vegetation, including hills, fields, bluffs, and hardwood groves. Along with that, our deer are truly wild! This makes hunting at Deer Haven Acres a real experience, and always a challenging experience.

So you can probably expect to spend a day or two hunting hard, looking for that perfect buck.

After you've made the shot on the buck of your choice, our in-house professional taxidermist can be on hand to dress and cape it, so you can enjoy the meat you've harvested, and have your trophy mounted. We can make arrangements to have your meat cut and packaged, or processed in any way you want. And we can get your buck to our in-house taxidermist ( Field and Stream Taxidermy Coloma, Wisconsin 608-547-1565), who can mount it for you.

Because the land and wildlife are privately owned, no hunting license or tag is required for hunting at Deer Haven Acres. This means that you don't have to worry about expensive out-of-state licensing fees, or drawing a tag. Even better, there's no season start and end dates. You can hunt deer just about any time after September 1.
